🔒 Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026. This Privacy Policy details what information XP Down Detector collects, how it is processed, and your rights as a visitor.
1. Overview
We operate an independent status monitoring service accessible without creating an account. We never sell your personal data. The information we collect is strictly limited to: voluntary messages you send, temporary IP addresses for spam prevention (rate limiting), and cookie preferences. Third-party advertisements (Google) may utilize cookies as described in Section 5.
2. Data We Collect
- Outage reports. When submitting an outage report on the dashboard, we record the target service, issue category, optional note (max 200 characters), and timestamp. Reports are published anonymously and retained for a maximum of 7 days.
- IP addresses. We record client IP addresses temporarily in server memory to enforce rate limits (max 1 report per service per 90 seconds, 1 contact form submission per minute). These addresses are never published or tied to personal profiles.
- Contact messages. If you submit our contact form, we store your name, optional email, and message body exclusively to reply to your inquiry.
- Technical monitoring metrics. Automated 24-hour health check logs (HTTP status codes, response times). This is service infrastructure data, not personal user data.
3. Cookies
We use the following categories of cookies:
- Essential cookies. Required for basic site operations, including persisting your cookie consent selection in localStorage (`xpdd-consent`).
- Advertising cookies (marketing). Placed by Google and its advertising partners if you opt in to personalized ads (see Section 5).
On your initial visit, a cookie consent banner presents options for "Accept All" or "Essential Only". Advertising scripts are only loaded after explicit consent. You can modify your preference at any time by clearing site data in your web browser settings.
4. Legal Basis and Data Retention
Data processing is conducted based on legitimate operational interests (securing services against spam, ensuring network stability) and your explicit consent for optional marketing cookies. Data is hosted securely and accessed only by site administrators. Contact submissions are capped at the last 500 messages.
5. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)
This website serves advertisements through Google AdSense. In connection with this:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this website.
- The use of DoubleClick DART cookies enables Google to serve advertisements based on prior visits to this site and other websites across the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- We do not control or access cookies set by third-party advertisers.
6. Other External Services
We monitor external web endpoints (e.g. WhatsApp, Google, Netflix, Tokopedia) to produce status insights, but we never transmit your personal data to these services — health checks originate from our central servers, not your client device. Our site contains no third-party social tracking pixels.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data you have voluntarily submitted (such as contact messages). Contact us through our contact page. Because our core service requires no registration or personal accounts, most interactions leave no persistent personal identifiers.
8. Changes to This Policy
Any revisions to this policy will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Updates take effect immediately upon publication.
